Tips to pass the Virtualbee Typing Test

If you’ve been searching for legitimate data entry work-from-home jobs, you’ve probably come across VirtualBee — now part of Lionbridge (and formerly known as KeyforCash). This long-standing company offers reliable, flexible typing jobs you can do from home.  It is a good work from home job for beginners who desire a flexible schedule where you don’t have to speak to and interact with customers.

Now is a great time to apply, especially during tax season, when there’s usually a higher demand for data entry workers. VirtualBee regularly needs typists to key in data from scanned documents, forms, and images.

Tips to Improve Your VirtualBee Typing Test Score

If you’ve applied before but didn’t get accepted, don’t give up!  Many applicants don’t pass the typing test the first time.  They allow you to retake the test more than once, so you have more than one opportunity to pass.

Below are some practical, easy-to-follow tips to help you improve your score and increase your chances of being invited to work from home with VirtualBee.

1. Use an Ergonomic, Sturdy Keyboard

A desktop keyboard is best because the raised keys make it easier to type quickly and accurately.  An ergonomic keyboard is even better because it allows you to rest your wrists on the padding below the keyboard.  This gives your hands a natural position to type the keystrokes without straining or tiring out.  You can purchase one of the top-selling keyboards on Amazon today here at a very affordable price.  Pressing down on each key helps reduce typing errors that often happen on laptop or tablet keyboards. If you don’t have one, use what’s available, but accuracy should be your top priority.

2. Work at a Desk or Table

Typing on a sturdy surface keeps your wrists and hands in a relaxed position, which improves both speed and comfort.  This setup also helps you navigate the keyboard more efficiently.

3. Read the Instructions Carefully

Before starting the test, take a few minutes to read all the directions. Many people lose points by rushing.

  • If a snippet is unreadable, press Enter to skip it.
  • If the image is completely blank, type a backslash (\).
This key is usually next to the Shift or period key on your keyboard.

4. Don’t Use Capital Letters

All entries should be in lowercase letters only — no capitals. Using uppercase letters can lower your accuracy score.

5. Practice Regularly

The more you type, the better your speed and accuracy will become.  There are many free typing practice sites available online to help you improve your keystrokes per hour (KSPH).  Visit this page for a typing test that has words about working from home.

Remember, the faster and more accurate you are, the higher your test score will be.

  1. Thanks, Alicia
I feel more confident and ready to sign-up and take the test for VirtualBee. Thanks again for all your hardwork and dedication to helping people find work
    while at home.

  2. Thank heavens and thank Alicia for showing me a legit Data Entry job. My only problem is I’m writing comments just trying to avoid taking the Data Entry Test. I wish I wasn’t so lazy, I wish Alicia would make a Motivation Video.

  3. Hi Alicia,

I have started the test and my percentage is 81. What percentage do I need in order pass or get invited to start working

    1. Some people are hired at a score of 98 that I have heard of. And they SAY they hire new people like every 2 weeks. depending on how much work they have.

    2. I believe that. I have also heard that people have gotten hired in at a 97 percent score as well. I do know of a few people that recently got invited to work for Virtualbee and some one person had applied back in May. I would say if you receive a 97 or above, you have a good chance of getting invited to work for Virtualbee.
